Man arrested in child pornography case
A Westmoreland County man is facing child pornography charges.
According to Westmoreland Sheriff C.O. Balderson, deputies from the King George County Sheriff’s Office received information that lead to the investigation.
It was later discovered that the incident involved a residence in Westmoreland, and the investigation was turned over to Westmoreland authorities, Balderson said.
A search warrant was executed Friday, and deputies seized cellphones and computers from a home in the 100 block of Lea Road in the Placid Bay Estates area, he said.
Edwin L. Pope, 36, was arrested without incident and charged with 10 counts of reproduction of child pornography.
He is being held without bond at the Northern Neck Regional Jail. His first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday in Westmoreland General District Court.
The investigation is ongoing, Balderson said.
